what problem is +chorus solving?
To answer your question, I don’t think it technically solves a problem. I believe it provides another option for people. The more options, the better.
+Chorus showcases the opportunity for communities to collaborate in an online environment with an added bonus of monetization using eCash. Community members can just hang out by sharing posts, photos, and voice recordings. Now with a monetization element in place, communities can also fundraise, make donations, pay an invoice for hired work, tip a post, or simply send money to a friend or family member around the world. Users are given agency to create their own community based on their preferences. Communities can include musicians, artists, doctors, nature lovers, whale watchers, cheerleaders, cyclists, chefs, and even weirdos. The list is endless. It’s their own personal hangout spot in a digital world. There’s also a search feature to explore other groups and users can join them. Moderators can set rules and delete posts, if desired. And in the near future, more privacy options such as private groups will be included.
+Chorus is also built on the Nostr protocol using relays which makes it difficult for a centralized source to step in and remove the content. Users login with their nsec which provides a degree of anonymity. Users aren’t asked to verify an email address nor phone number to gain access.
It’s the first rollout but it looks promising. Moreover, it’s in the early stages and will have some initial bugs.

For the record, I wasn’t involved in the vibe coding of +Chorus.
But you can check out how vibe coding was used to create it. People could be inspired to create their own client using vibe coding. nostr:nprofile1qqsfxfs52ud0ewk569apj8hzs83ea6amgxunlty0mpuzjc32avgj7ngprpmhxue69uhkummnv3exjan99eshqup0wfjkccteqy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kyardyg3 did a fantastic job writing a blog about it.

+Chorus may not be for everyone. There will be people who like it and there will be people who don’t like it. But everyone has free will. The freedom of choice. Thus, people have the choice to not use it and use something else including the creation of their own client. ✨
Group functionality is needed. Many of us are stuck in legacy platforms until we can replace them fully. For example, I run a Discord server for my local Bitcoin Meetup.
Then there are topical conversations that get lost if you try to do it on your feed. I'm also a member in multiple Reddit and Facebook groups, so on and so forth.
For reddit alike communities we have NIP-72
For groups we have NIP-29 like chachi. Chachi already looks like discord lite and only thing missing is voice channels.
y'all train models in the same style as the teachers you hated in school taught you - making little robots.
Thanks for sharing! 🙏
