I came to your comment section to find out for myself, but I'm the first one here. Sorry buddy, I'm just as lost as you. 😂 If you figure it out let me know too?
So far my assumption is that it is to spread value to other people so they can spread value to other people, some people don’t own sats :-) Value for Value.
Also just fun and learn to Zap, since it’s the first time some of use/interact with lighting ⚡️
Zapathon is a stresstest for the custodial wallets like wallet of satoshi for 30min on thursday and friday .

I *think* its where you just zap as many people as you can within a certain timeframe. People often post during this time to make themselves a zap target. Some people zap their feed amd others zap the global feed.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
It used to be a kind of stress test of the wallets to see if they could handle the volume (Wallet of Satoshi would usually bug out at least once). Now it's mostly just for fun, but it is still effective at pushing the limits of the lightning network. If maxis have any hope of their dream coming true, lightning will have to handle orders of magnitude more transactions than it currently does.
