I'm sitting in on a 401(k) webinar at work today and the host is talking about historic inflation rates of 2-3% to use as a benchmark for retirement contributions.

Anyone think we're ever going back to that level again?

Nope. It’s not going to happen as long as we are using USD as the unit of account. Put a fork in it. It’s done. I see persistent higher inflation for a period (of unknown length) followed by hyperinflation.
