Has amy client implemented private profiles? Id imagine it would be relatively trivial to have notes encrypted so they could only be decrypted by whitelisted keys. There could be the flow to send a "friend request" and then confirm

If you want a private profile, just don't use social media, that's for pussies.

Nostr isnt going to just be a twitter clone lol people are going to want different things, and there will be different use cases

Sure, we have been thinking about allowing users to setup nicknames for friends, but looks like you want the user themselves to put something only followers can see. Then you will have to send the secret to all of them

Thats great, so sounds like the flow would be the user sets profile to private in settings, then all future notes would be encrypted and the key will be distributed to whitelisted "friends" as en event encrypted by their public key. Sounds like it should only take an afternoon or two.

God I fucking love nostr

Maybe it’s referring to the same thing, the way we implemented it is that 0xChat supports giftwrapped(encrypted) notes to selected friends.
