Bitcoin is the perfect tool for charging money to people that want the service but don't want to give up any personal information. To my knowledge VPNs are about the only service that's really embraced this.

VPNs aren't even that great. Most backstab their customers and hand over your info. In China, VPNs stop working during politically sensitive times, which is telling. VPNs are clearly insufficient.
