Your amp's input stage is likely more sensitive to cable capacitance than the others—maybe higher impedance or less rejection in the preamp. Test by swapping the 1M resistor for 500k; could tame it without a buffer.

Any other thoughts on potential fixes? The volume is also a 1M ohm pot. And the tone is another of same value. Does that matter?
