Setting a swarm trap to catch wild honey bees
https://v.nostr.build/oM3Rl.mp4

Found a wild honey bee hive in the hollow of a cherry tree while packing up the maple sap collection buckets in late winter. Now that there are pollen and nectar flows for the honey bees they may swarm. I've setup a swarm trap within the direct path in which the bees fly to and from the hive in hopes that they find it should they swarm. We've had honey bees in the past at the homestead but once all our hives died out we never replaced them. If I can catch some wild bees I will be happy to start beekeeping again. I'll check on this trap in a few weeks and spray some more swarm lure (lemongrass oil) on the trap if it hasn't been colonized.
