I avoid Primal. No Amber login on Android, yuck.

The search feature is powerful enough that makes me go back to it...

That's a plus of their use of a cache rather than directly pulling from relays for sure.

Amethyst doesn't have a good search yet, but I get by with nostr.band and nosey.vercel.app
