The followers could no longer tell themselves the lies they were, since they no longer had the majority supporting them.
And although they may not believe them anymore, they just seem to retreat to ever more insane levels of hysteria towards the opposition.
My brother said ‘Biden is going to be the best president ever’. He doesn’t argue about Biden’s failings now, but says stuff like ‘well Trump raped his daughter’.
I’ve decided to try not to talk about politics with him from now on.
