Long time back, when I was browsing through global, I came across a farewell message of someone finding their life too unbearable and that they'd decided to end it. The user had a Chinese username and no post history.

I didn't respond - I didn't (and don't) know if a random stranger, who has no context, can say something helpful. I think about the user often and wonder what happened to them; whether I could have been of use if I had responded/asked what their situation was...
