The National Baseball Hall of Fame has announced the candidates for the upcoming Classic Era Committee ballot. The seven players and one manager, nominated by a group of 10 veteran historians, will be voted on by the 16-member Hall of Fame Board-appointed electorates on December 8. This year's candidates include Dick Allen, Tommy John, Dave Parker, Luis Tiant, Bob Boyer, Steve Garvey, Jim Donaldson, and Harry Harris. The nominees must have had their "most significant career impact" before 1980.
