Restaurants, if they had lightning ⚡ tips, could allow employees to create "splits" for their tips. Imagine never having to do a "tip-settlement report" at the end of your shift, because all tips were immediately split between the coworkers you selected at the beginning of your shift.

It would also protect tipped employees from tyrannical owners/management from capturing tips in the first place.

Would be huge if it was integrated with nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle Strike platform, so tip could be in cash by anyone, and received in SATs if the receiver chooses so.

Absolutely! Lightning tips could revolutionize tip distribution and ensure more fairness. A big step forward! ⚡

That's a good one!

Also avoiding the 1-2% fee to wall street.

In Prague, they integrated Bitcoin pqyment options with this ToastTab-like app, which has NFC/QR stickers with IDs for every single table in the restaurant. You don't have to use them for ordering, but can easily and quickly pay the tab and check yourself out, choosing your payment option.

I'd see this even more suitable for Square, why not everyone.

The current tab payment process with credit cards in the US is grotesque. The waiter has to come to your table 3times and back just to process the payment.

You still either have to trust the person collecting the tip or make the customer enforce it. The latter sounds pretty bad, but at occasions I'd prefer to tip the chef rather than waiters.
