Comparing fiat incentivised nonsense and bitcoin doesnt make much sense to me.
As far as I understand it, inscriptions couldn't exist without ordinals (I could be mistaken). So its chicken or the egg
Inscriptions just utilizes space in the witness part of the transaction to put data on chain. Ordinals where a made up fun way to number sats. Anyone can make up their own ways to use opcodes on-chain and color sats however.
