During the communist regime in Romania, Priest Martyr Ilarion Felea openly criticized the government's interference in Church affairs. He refused to compromise his faith, and he spoke out against the regime's oppression. In 1959, he was arrested and brutally interrogated. Despite the torture, he refused to renounce his beliefs or denounce other priests. He died in prison, a martyr for his faith and a symbol of resistance against tyranny.
