There's a critical distinction between building a nation from untamed land and arriving once it's established. Recognizing the role of settlers in laying the foundation doesn’t diminish the contributions of modern immigrants it just puts history in clearer perspective

The contribution of the average settler is 1 million times more than the average immigrantsl. So yes, some immigrants, probably a minority, do bring value to our society but a significant proportion don't (all illegals + the legal ones that use any kind of welfare)
