The German state that seized the bitcoin which was evidence had to be sold at auction just like any other property seized by the state. I hate the myth implying the German state in which had the bitcoin could have kept it indefinitely. Fake news it had to be sold at auction.
That is true, what is also true, is that the German government could have bid and bought it all🤷🏻‍♂️.
What is also true is that the UK’s 60,000 Bitcoin, which was also seized, has not been sold. Wonder if they will…
They did not have to sell the coins. Please do some more research on the topic outside of what the news said.
