The advent of writing ruined our memory

It was doomscrolling.

Well instead of remembering things we wrote them down and now we fill up our mind with nonsense.

And now we store everything in the cloud and on the computer and people are forgetting how to write.

i think Thamus was correct.

It’s worth reading Understanding Media by Marshall McLuhan. He goes into this in detail.

Because writing increases our RAM dramatically
