Watched Ennemies (2013), a psychological thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve. A calm Toronto professor finds an actor who is his perfect lookalike. He fixates on trying to meet him. Both of their lives interlink in odd ways. Reality and desire get mixed up. There’s a lot of symbolism in the film, particularly the recurring spider images. Hadn’t seen this one in a while. I enjoyed it. I remember looking up the symbolism of the end of the movie. I like that you have lots of questions when you finish watching. The casting, the acting and the scenery were great. 7.9/10 #nodereviews

‘trana has the best sceneries 🤣

What did the spiders symbolize?

Commitment, marriage and domesticity. At the end of the movie when he leaves the kitchen (where his pregnant wife is) and comes back, she is replaced by a gigantic spider that seems afraid. It’s how he sees her. Not how she actually is

***spoiler alert***

Oh damn... I've been getting dreams about spiders. Kind of a zoomed in fascination with them, until I suddenly get creeper out and wake up.

Do they take the place of something or someone you’re committed to?

Don't think so... Hard to remember.

Yeah it’s always hard to remember dreams well.

Denis Villeneuve is the GOAT

Yes. He’s really good. A few of his films that I hadn’t seen before (Maelström and Polytechnique) and they were quite good
