# Handbrake Video Encoder

Handbrake is the goto open-source program for ripping DVDs and re-encoding videos in Linux.

Some of the things you can do with Handbrake:

- Rip a DVD disc to a single movie file.

- Re-Encode videos to other formats

(such as encoding them into h264 format so they will be compatible with more platforms, or into h265/HVEC format for reduced file size)

- Resize video

- Crop video (get rid of black edges or watermarks)

handbrake is awesome

Yes it is. And much easier to use than Tdarr, which requires running a web server.

Love handbrake

Thanks, used this guide last night after Sound Juicer could not read my DVD
