We pay attention to prices under the illusion that a dollar is worth a dollar much as a foot ruler is 12” long. Actually our dollars are shrinking in purchasing power due to money printing. It’s as if we’re building houses with rulers that are a quarter inch shorter every year.
The dollar backing no longer exists. What's left for the government is to print money like there's no tomorrow.
