So i've been trying to do some basic obedience training with our new pup Lucy. She's pretty strong willed, and not as easy to train as our other dogs were. Even though she's a little over 20 lbs now, she's pretty muscular. (Heeler mix), and started pulling on her leash when I walk her. I tried all the usual tricks, including the Gentle Leader, but the pulling continued. I think I finally found something that works with her, a Herm Stronger prong collar, basically a self correcting collar. When she tries to pull, the prongs apply pressure. I know these collars look mean and sound inhumane, but it doesn't hurt the dog when fitted properly. Every dog is different, but it has worked great for Lucy. No more leash pulling. #grownostr dogstr

I had the exact same experience with my strong, energetic Weimaraner. Prong collar was the only thing that worked. Wish I had found that sooner since I sustained a few injuries from him pulling. Although, he acts like he’s in trouble when I go to put it on him.
Thank you for this note
My dog pulls and I’ve tried a lot of things with no corrections working. I saw these and was suggested one but chose not to but I am going to give it a try because of this. Thank you
