Pretending I am too emotional is gaslighting in this context. My emotions are justified. Backup has a calming effect. Gaslighting doesn't.

Nope. It is pretend. If the gaslighting is accidental, you're free to expand on your train of throught so I can dissect it and change your mind. If the gaslighting is intentional, feel free to do something else instead.
