The world is going to get much more confusing. Decentralized media means that information can't get suppressed, but we'll also be awash in misinformation and disinformation. Not that MSM didn't partake in that of course, but they largely did so in unison which was somehow "decodable". How to make sense of the information landscape going forward will be a formidable challenge. Bring it

Believe nothing until you can verify with credible evidence.

in general, given a claim that you want to verify, how would you proceed to obtain credible evidence?

You have to dig. Find someone credible and MAKE SURE they are credible, then listen to them and that usually is the right start. They will lead you to more credible points of contact (other experts, studies, quality anecdotes, books, lectures, etc) you can look into further and verify independently.

Once you start finding multiple credible sources that have overlapping conclusions then you know you’re on the right path.

During Covid when I found Jon Ioannidis that was the start of unraveling the web of lies. Lead me to the right people, studies, anecdotes and answers over time.

From what I understood, you're saying that there should be an initial 'anchor' person, to seed your information and refer to other sources. How do you find this person (and decide whether they're credible)? Gut feel?
