Hi Derek, Iâm new here too and have seen wavlake used by lots of people so feel curious to try it but suddenly saw the high fee charged on artistsâ earningsđ„Č wonder if itâs worth it over other traditional apps?

High fee? I don't remember off the top of my head but it's nearly all earnings to to artists. It's only like 1-3% goes to Wavlake?
I think the FAQ mentions 10%đ

"## How much does it cost to use?
Wavlake charges a flat 10% fee on all earnings. This helps cover the cost of development, hosting, and payment management."
Thanks! That's still incredibly low compared to Spotify's 30%.
True. Iâve been looking for alternatives to bandcamp for years, which charges less than 10% I believe. I would consider paying this fee to wavlake despite not knowing whoâs behind it because theyâre 1) building on #nostr and 2) growing the #bitcoin economyâwith bandcamp Iâm feeding the PayPal mafia and other fiends. Still, would be amazing if wavlake would consider lowering to a more standard fee as many creator apps charge around 5%

You can host it yourself and keep 100% and it will show up on lnbeats.com.

Do you have a website? If yes, all you need is some data entry skills.
Whatâs the name of your song, whatâs the link to the mp3, whatâs the link to artwork etc. Upload the mp3s and art to your website, link to them in the rss feed, and then lastly anfter youâve uploaded your newly minted rss feed to the website, add it to https://podcastindex.org/add
The tool you can use is to build a feed is http://musicsideproject.com/ there is a tutorial that walks you thru what to do or hit me up if you have questions. I built about 100 feeds for various artists using this and havenât looked back.
Itâs 3% but thatâs all for monitoring purposes split between IRC, nostr:npub1yvgrrzf4dnmu30qfhw95x87ruu0g2kpv3a64h8hpvqsre8qeuspsgd6pv9 and myself so that I can read out the boosts on B4TS.
I get that. Say hi to nostr:nprofile1qqs04kqtw3gmq0mgdlv7fpastd5uqnyq3cn2rkm9tev7pc5k5hylfhgpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68y6r4vghxvuspz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3samnwvaz7tmswfjk66t4d5h8qunfd4skctnwv46qytfc59 to help answer #1. For #2 I get that. You don't have to use Wavlake to publish your media. You can publish it directly to Nostr and people can zap you and you'd get 100% of those sats.
