Potentially stupid question:

Why is bitchat called BITchat? What is the bit? Why is it not eg GeoChat?

Probably cuz it spells out bitch maybe

I suspect that is very much on purpose, they knew it would be giving a lay up for easy jokes to spread the word.

Very much like twitter starting as twttr

geoch@? cmon that's stupid!

Yeah, it needs to be joke lay up-friendly to help with network effect

See: twttr

every product or service a bitcoiner makes must include one of the following: bit, block, chain, or coin

i don't make the rules that's just how it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is probably the correct answer lol

Unfortunately

that reminds me i need to rebrand my project to bitpool once it's production ready

You clean pools?

just a bit

I hope it's an homage to an old IRC client -- BitchX.

I guess the protocol might use geographically neutral binary encoding for the Bluetooth mesh, meaning, data encoded bit by bit instead of wasting data on code words and stuff
