Are you sure you have your electricity price right?

Have you explored buying some non-kyc via other means?

I honestly just want to get a miner as a learning opportunity. I have means to get non-kyc other ways that are probably more efficient

This is not profitable.

That HeatBit miner (I think it’s called) looks pretty cool. It’s basically an indoor heater/air purifier that also has an impressive chip built into it that mines BTC. Plus it only cost like $300 -$400 and I believe it mines around $20-$25 worth of BTC every month that it’s used daily. Idk it might be dumb but so far I’ve heard nothing but good things about it on The Blue Collar BTC podcast.

If you want to use the heat, an S9 is a good deal. If you only want it for learning, get a USB Miner or a Nerdminer. Less noise and less electricity cost. Expect at least 1000 watts from an S9.

About Amazon I'm not sure. If you buy one from a pleb locally you can go there and check if it still works. These devices are a couple of years old now in the end..

Last tip: If you buy an S9, get an S9i or S9j. Avoid the S9k, you can't install the Braiins firmware on those, and you'll want it :)
