NIP idea: a new event kind for “media mirrors”. Anyone reply to any note with a mirror of the media in the original note. If the original media fails to load, clients can go to the next mirror, check the hash to make sure it’s a valid copy of the same media, and then load it from there.

In this way, a dead link in the original post can be corrected for by literally anyone willing to share a link to the original file
