i was interested specifically in L-Fold design that folds twice at 90 degree angles. with this design even when a card is loose in the slot it can't fall out and also aesthetically the contents aren't visible from outside when folded making for a cleaner look. win-win. but there are of course many types of clever wallets, the L-Fold is just one design

i couldn't find any L-Fold wallets from a reputable brands for much less than what i paid for the Tumi and i trusted the Tumi brand that's why i got it. i paid $155 on sale. probably a quality wallet can be had for about $60-$100. the packaging of the Tumi wallet was over the top. clearly they were struggling to justify the price so they went all out on the unboxing experience.

anyway it's not about the price it's about getting what you want. don't think in terms of more money means better quality. ask yourself what you want then if you can afford it then get it. if you can't then don't. there are some things ( like Gaming PCs ) where performance and price correlate closely and you can expect to get more by paying more. but wallets don't have "performance" - it just personal preference. whether it is "worth it" depends entirely on if you love it or not, but that's a purely subjective emotion.
