Yep. People have to find their tribe no matter where they go and the tribes rarely get along. I'm more of a why can't we all just get along type 🤷‍♀️

My humble take is that it is ego and the need for some people to just be right/superior, because it validates them as a person.

Let's not forget about that one. Or the contrarian who is willing to argue over anything.
