This isnt censorship... his message is still available, only zaps from him are not counted as he missused them. Its the same as most relays filter spam out... how are those zaps not spam is the question i have for you?

It's very close and the moment anyone steps up to "moderate" content on nostr (in any form, whatsoever) you're assuming the position of a "control authority" which is no different to censorship.
No developer on nostr should ever decide what people get to see or don't get to see. You're starting something that will not end well by setting a precedence of filtering content. Yes, even a zap.
just develop your UI ... whats the issue? Or use another one.... NO ONE BLOCKS YOU, NO ONE DELETES SOME ONE....
Just for comparison, i did run once for a test a nostr relay and had to filter at least 50k messages / min because they are spam and not information. Do you think i should have keept them? If so run a relay, there is realy no one that can block you... there is also no one that can delete your content on all relays....

Moderation should be done at the relay level and the choice of seeing content should be left to those using a client. It makes sense. #[1] made a good point. Does your Bitcoin wallet decide for you which blocks it recognizes and which it won't recognize? No. #[3]
