My way comes with strings attached.
get them aqua wallet, send them sats via lightning invoice, no need to burden them with channel openings as its liquid based, which adds security and privacy. not to mention its open source and self hosted. They can learn about it more as they go, but its a solid starter wallet that wont run into the typical mire of failed lightning transactions

Or directly gift a 12 or 24 BIP39 words that mean something between you and the person which celebrate. But before you create rhe seed, try if it's a valid combination.
Give them a sats card with .25 to .5 mil sats (.0025- .005) on it and wait. Tell them they can give it back in a year or pay you what it was worth in fiat a year ago to keep it.
They grow their understanding over the course of that year every time. It's pseudo skin in the game.
