It would have been smarter to build up the nuclear power generation beforehand, as opposed wind and solar power that simply does not have the energy density or on-call supply required for heavy industry.

The immediate ramifications are dire.

All of that said, despite the political intervention making life tough, the people are well educated and hard working so should pull through. It is just that it could have been so much better.
