Imo: It’s hard to find a truly elite golfer that’s not self centered and an individualist (it helps in tuning out all the psychological punishment of the sport)… there are a few but not many.
…as for thinking primarily of himself and particularly his family … some would consider that a noble quality… I imagine being married to most professional golf is at best difficult with the travel and trappings that go along with professional golf
Also in a day and age of practiced, prepared and well rehearsed responses “ad lib” responses to reporters (in the name of honoring the sport and fans) it’s nice to hear authentic responses which seem to be more and more rare these days 🤷🏽♂️
