Hammurabi's Code was pretty based imo in certain aspects.

Almost like the people who are today very moral have been so in the past too even before a groups a sand people brought them some dusty book.

I find it extremely insulting towards ancient Europeans how mostly renaissance Christians depict them and todays Christians regurgitate it.
They weren't naked savages the sacrificed babies, the only religion I know that has been documented to occasionally sacrifice Children are Jewish.
If you think about European folk tales and ancient myths it's all about being noble righteous and true of heart. In contrast to the Torah where it's often about the Jews perceiving themselves to be wronged and getting vengeance.
You can still see the same character in todays descendants as you can read in their ancient stories. One fights a monster to protect the fair princess and falls in love the other smears goat blood on his door so that the children of the people in whos land they're guest dies and not theirs.
Same character different time.
"Let us create man in our image"
Sooooo, like "in His image" includes morality right?....mankind had a moral compass about themselves from the beginning? What a novel idea! So God gave us specific laws to abide by after the fall and corruption to clarify and set the record straight? Kinda like your kid knows it's wrong to steal but you have to reinforce that idea and making sure they know there is a consequence for commiting theft?
NNNNNUUURRRRR MANKIND CAN BE MORAL WITHOUT A HIGHER AUTHORITY TO APPEAL TO, ITS NOT LIKE MY MORALITY DIFFERS FROM A PAJEETS!
