I hate presents for Christmas, birthdays, etc. I just want the family around the kitchen, cooking and then around the table, enjoying glorious food.
It took decades to figure this out.

Amen brotha. That’s all that matters, and actually what makes the days memorable. Took me way too long to figure out as well.
My personal tradition is I always cook a big holiday meal. I always do steaks for 4th of July. I look forward to Christmas where I make a roast and fixings. Today for Easter I roasted a chicken, potatoes, carrots, Lima beans, rolls, and an apple pie. We all sit around and enjoy the meal and the day.
Impressive Ghost 😉
I’m actually a good cook. Here is a picture of my chicken pre-roasted

Love it. That’s what it’s all about. I’ve taken over Thanksgiving for the family, and I relish in it. Important to keep the reason for celebration and family close. I really feel like we are returning to this realization. Cheers, sir.
