I was born into communism. My whole family and their parents lived in communism. The worst experience of their lives. A year after I was born the communist regime collapsed. The first two decades of transition to capitalism were pretty rough, but I’m the first person in three generations of my family that can actually pass for middle class and have some equity to its name. Probably nothing.
