Gotta actually win first. More firepower dropped per square inch than any war in history didn't even scratch their fighting forces; just destroyed civilian infrastructure, women, children, and elderly. Yes -- but the people stopping them are still there. Stopping them. And given that they manufacture arms locally from unexploded munitions, they're now more well armed than ever before.
If a people can't defend "their" land, sooner or later it's not their land anymore.
Property rights ultimately belong to those with the military force to defend them.
