Tastes like apple butter. Pastry (folded and sealed) with filling of mashed apples, cinnamon, butter, other goodies. Then fried in butter in a cast iron skillet until golden. Only grandmother could make them correctly to where they didn’t taste greasy.

Sounding like a modified apple dump recipe, but in a pocket.
