I was fired from a great job I loved in semiconductor fab due to a mandate. No unemployment, had to blow through all my savings, and now I'm going on 47 and am a part-time dishwasher starting from literal zero.

I worked in finance, had a great trajectory, 3.5 years later I’m still struggling to find anything remotely close to where I was.

I hear ya. Unless something drastic changes for the better, my career in tech fab is done. All the tech companies, including manufacturers, are on board. 2 degrees and around 20 yrs in the field down the drain with the stroke of a pen
