Can we just admit that banning cigarette ads was a violation of the natural order of history?
Sure, but the US was still on the gold standard in January of 1971 and cigarettes suck so it's not one of my top priorities.

I'm not sure it was entirely about the gold standard, it seems that the American Empire "switched modes" and decided to pursue a policy of damaging its people.
True, that's when the war on drugs started too. Maybe nicotene was the first drug they attacked.
