It can be disheartening that even in bitcoin we have many people who still don’t get it.
Despite some being here for many years.
Thankfully this doesn’t matter to bitcoin and is simply a personal pet peeve of mine.

After listening to the odell interview with Lionel Shriver, I feel somewhat defeated. She has identified all of the issues that are going to inevitably lead to economic chaos. But when somebody points out bitcoin as a potential solution, she could care less. Almost seems like it is a "bother" to entertain the idea of a solution.
Some people have felt defeated for so long that they refuse to even entertain the notion of a solution.
This is so common. People just want to complain, they won't put in the work to entertain solutions.
Everyone is at a different stage in their journey. I look at it as kind of like a 1000 piece puzzle. You put it together lil by lil and you wouldn't realize that you could have been missing pieces to the puzzle the entire time until you get close to finishing the puzzle.
True. And it’s unfortunate when I see someone say “ I am in bitcoin over 5 years” but I see that this person is clueless. So, basically wasted

Agreed. People can be in “Bitcoin” and not have put in the work. Think how many hours it took all of us (books, articles, podcast, Twitter posts to find signal) It took Michael Saylor 3 months and he’s a literal rocket scientist.
It's also a matter of being able to hunt down & find the signal. Think of how many people are currently trapped in the 20,000+ shitcoin quagmire, and have been for years, without once receiving a single piece of Bitcoin signal. I've never been involved in an ecosystem that has as much intellectual & technical dishonesty as there is with this overall general cRyPTo space.

What might really bake your noodle later is when future you realizes that present you still doesn't really get bitcoin.

How many hours of investment in learning do you think the average person will require in order to substantially grasp Bitcoin and its implications for the future?
My suspicion is a lot of people hop on board for the potential $$$ gains and stick around because it works, and are not getting any closer to understanding Bitcoin.
But anyone who is curious WHY “NgU” is bound to fall down the rabbit hole at some point. Slowly but surely, comprehension will spread.
I doubt anyone has been to the bottom of the rabbit hole, not even Satoshi himself. There is no "it" to get. "It" just keeps getting deeper.
There’s definitely something to get here. And it’s a three way triangulation between rough consensus, first principles and design trade offs.
I've only been in for a couple years but I get enough to know that I'll never get enough, and that I'll keep on trying to get as much of enough as I can. And I'm not just talking about sats.
