Hey Mike.
Thats certainly a conundrum and better choices than Adam Bach giving his coin to Wall Street.
I see many Boomers have left the UK as the cost of living is just so high and low quality of life. Many unhappy with the changes that have taken place the last 20 or so years.
I really enjoyed my recent visit and that was maybe the weather but also the people are so friendly and nice.
What is certainly noticeable is the poverty and disheartened youth with little to no chances to do much there. Terrible wages, infrastructure and very authoritarian and centralised government.
Here in Germany in small towns, they are thriving in comparison to the UK, even though the UK has a more entrepreneural spirit. The reasons are easily 2 things that need to change in the UK urgently which are not even controversial..
1) Business rates should only be paid on profits. This is killing all small businesses (by design I think) to support big chains.
2) Decentralise government funding. The UK has seen the biggest decrease in local government funding ever the last decade (around 86%) on core grants. This has made them become aggressive revenue generators through parking, fines and fees for services already paid for with tax.
This makes me think there is an extraction agenda for most of the UK to London and large corporations. How can Amazon pay no tax on its profits generated in the UK. The corruption is just so bad.
Where do you even begin to start to turn things around? Most people dont even take hard money seriously. I was also surprised how bad GenZ and Millenials seem to be with tech and wanting to understand how things work..
Keep up the vlogging.
