I think longer distances and low rate of electrification. IC is extremely efficient at carrying energy, it's very dense. Still denser than battery technology.

100%… and the source of this electricity would almost certainly have been combustion too unless they were plugging directly into a damn

EV’s aren’t new, battery development never stopped… much smaller batteries evolved for lower energy use cases like ignition
What blows my mind is it’s just taken us a hundred years to build car batteries good enough for 15 minute cities and kids working in cobalt mines
