I was making a more general comment about your response that many are toeing a line.
Self-restraint is as you described, but it is also self-control in the face of high emotions or impulsiveness. Given the high emotions and high stakes of a lot of current world events, I am only making the point that it is just as important to maintain composure as it is to exercise freedom of speech.
