The case for 'I dont get it''s

Sir I don't remember, do you have Android or iOS? Amethyst has edits.

No I get edits, I just don't get the context of the note because I'm thick.

Hahahhaha. Ftw!

Edits are easy guys:

1) submit post with a typo

2) spot said typo

3) copy text of the offending post

4) switch from Primal

5) open nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch

6) find offending post

7) delete offending post

8) return to nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg

9) create new post

10) paste saved text

11) correct typo

12) repeat as needed until no typos

This also works too.

1) visit eBay.com

2) sell your iPhone

3) use money to buy a Pixel 9

4) download Amethyst

5) make a new note

6) see a typo

7) tap edit

8) fix typo

9) post fixed note

Got me thinking. What if I kept my iPhone, but the client just issued a delete and post combo after the UI handled the edit behavior? Is @fiatjaf’s edit issue a content integrity issue for posts saved on relays or something? The relay could keep both versions or honor the delete request, and deliver the new edit of the post as the only version, the primary and archived version or as two tandem versions, depending on relay admin setup. Disclaimer: I’m coming at this from the UX perspective only since I don’t know enough about the protocol to make code handling recommendations.

I have no problem with edits so long as there is a trail to the original.
