Discernment of scammers may be one of the few things people seemed to be better at on Twitter. Some of y’all got me worried 🤣

I Zap for the content not the person behind the content.

I also assume Dude until proven innocent.

I hope you really are that fish

Ofcourse babe xxx ❤️🐟

Oh hey

💀

I think that’s a good approach. I was thinking more about with new people. It’s possible to be welcoming and friendly without being naive to the fact that scammers will wash/rinse/repeat the same process with new profiles if it keeps working.

Valid points

Funny and true! I get rugged all the time 🫂

You’re one of the most generous guys on here. I hate to think that happens and that others may be unintentionally encouraging that repeat behavior from scammers. I think ideally new users should find Nostr welcoming and friendly and a place where others reward them for their authenticity and proof of work. It’s part of what has made this such an appealing network of people to be part of. 💜🫂

Agreed 🌽🫂💯

It’s much better to zap⚡️larger amounts to accounts that have earned community trust through providing value consistently. Being vigilant with new people or situations is important; however, it’s great to zap small amounts like crazy to keep the spirit going and help genuine newbies feel Bitcoin for the first time.

If I get rug pulled for 222 sats, it’s alright with me 😉

Love your spirit and heart and I’m not gonna stop zapping either, but I have largely stopped sending the little “just for nothing” zaps to people I don’t follow 💜🔥 My mind has just been on how easy it would be for someone to take advantage of everyone’s hunger for new users by creating new accounts, collecting a few thousand “welcome sats” on each one from people who are genuinely being nice, and then repeating it all over again with a new batch of accounts. There is a very low threshold right now to turning that into a lucrative hobby.
