Sounds like a really good way to centralize software more than it already is. Imagine having to compile something like an OS to avoid Microsoft, etc. Alas, this is what the EU does with this stuff. All they really do is screw consumers in the long term and strengthen the market shares of the companies they claim to be fighting. They are the only ones that can afford all the regulations.

Sounds more like using Gentoo Linux or slackware Linux... Where is the problem? Ok it's annoying to change a config for every program you compile, but on the other side you do it anyway often enough.
I mean, we are taking about mainly businesses here, the admin should do it with the blink of an eye.
I'm not interested in workarounds anymore. People either need to fight back or have fun going back to the dark ages.
I understand your point. I myself couldn't care less, it was just an idea what people concerned would probably do to not be punishable.
It's a bit like exporting PGP code from US in printed books and then scanning the code again to compile it, so to circumvent "weapon export regulations" -- I don't WANT this to be like that, but there are always ways to fuck them like this.
