HERO

You Are a hero in a dystopian saga.

From every dystopian story most have numerous atrocities towards humanity:

A corrupt ruling class

Unnecessary poverty

Constant observation

Division between cultures

Orchestrated disease war and famine

Out of this evolves a band of resistance made of all different types of peoples each with their own skillset. They don’t always get along and they aren’t perfect but they have a common goal. Freedom.

Look at the world and you will see its upon us. Here, driven by hope, is where we can fight for that freedom and win.

It’s an honour to be among you heroes. I look forward to a better future. 💜

The Cyberpunk Dystopia predicted 40 years ago is upon us. Some of us were more prepared than others, but now that we are in the shit, I realize that we either all make it out together or we don't make it at all. We don't need heroes or heroics, we need collectives working for mutual benefit.

I wrote some thoughts about this for 2600 The Hacker Quarterly last in 2021 which I recently placed on my blog.
