My take on Starship Troopers is that I enjoyed both the book and the films.

The book gets more into libertarian themes of personal responsibility and individual choice than the movies, which are more satirical in nature, poking fun at militarism and propaganda. However, more than anything, both are good sci-fi. Both portray high-functioning Earthlings battle against hive-mind Arachnids.

This contrast highlights the advantage humans have by being able to make decisions at the individual level.

I need to find this book!

I was thinking what novel to read next. I may make it this one. I like to read fiction before bed to shut my brain down. I have never seen the movies or read the books.

I just got done reading Contact by Carl Sagan. I enjoyed this book. It touches on how governments work, conspiracy theorists, and science vs. religion. I also never watched this movie either.

The book is better but the movie is definitely cool
