I imagine it will be treated just like vinyl records, they are superior to their traditional counterparts but will have still given way to easier and more accessible, digital products.

No, film wouldn't be superior anymore to camera sensors much better than today. It's not clear to me why digital music storage doesn't match vinyl, don't know if that could change too
